About Us...

What began as just an idea in 1971 has blossomed into one of Western New York’s finest catering operations. After 34 years of operation in the Tonawandas, Jack and Mary Ann Cohen, owners of Mr. & Mrs. Catering Service, Inc. turned over the reins of operation to their eldest son David on September 1st, 2004.

Jack & Mary Ann are stepping aside with pride, although Jack feels that David will be calling on them for that occasional help. ”We wish David the best for his future and congratulate him for his accomplishments and determination.“. They are excited that a family member is carrying on the tradition of ”hot foods served hot“ or ”from the oven to the plate“.

David is proud of what his parents have accomplished with their business. He boasts that he will continue to keep the tradition of hot foods first and foremost in the buffet line, something that his parents prided themselves in doing. His goal is to beat his parents’ record of serving 600 people on a sit down dinner in 18 minutes by doing it in 14 minutes or less. Serving 400 people with eight buffet lines is a tradition for Mr. & Mrs. Catering.

”I am not really taking over, I am just moving forward. I am excited for the opportunity that my parents have given me, and can assure them that I will not let them down.“

Chef David Joseph Cohen

David has been in the food business since he graduated from college in 1989. He used the experience he developed working with chains like Roy Rogers, Sbarros and Garfields to bring youth and dynamics to his parents’ business through the nine years he has been associated with Mr. & Mrs. Catering Service. He plans to continue the tradition of quality food and excellent service, and looks forward to the next 34 years.

David is a member of the Kiwanis Club of Lockport and of BNI, a business support group. He is Sergeant at Arms of the Sons of the Legion Post 264 in Tonawanda. His work with Alzheimer’s and Hospice has raised thousands of dollars for their causes. He also bowls, plays volleyball and is a member of the Buffalo Bills Blue Coats, an organization that encourages charitable work in Western New York. And last but not least, he is the founding President of the Western New York Parrott Head Club.
